Zhang Ziyi
These are two preliminary sketches of Zhang Ziyi for a painting commission I'm doing for "Faces and Names". I e-mailed them the sketches and they liked the second one better- so that's the one I'm doing. When will it be done? That's the question. Hopefully before the end of the month so I can pay the rent. It's going to be a dimensional oil painting - 14" x 17". I'll post it when I'm done.

I'm a fan of the first, but I can see how the second one bowled over better. Good luck!
Thanks. Yeah, I was torn between the two, so either one was fine with me to do. They show two different sides of her- the more innocent, and the more wild, so the bar went with the obvious choice.
Those are some damn fine drawin's "Springer". I liked the innocent one better too, but bars like them wild girls.... Are you going to do anything special with the background?
A third vote for the first one, but I do like them both. Cam brings up a good point on the background..something subtle, maybe.
Thanks, "Chesney"; I was initially drawn to the first one as well, but I can see why they want the second one. I'm not sure about the background yet, but maybe I'll suggest a landscape.
Thanks for your comment, Justin- seems like you changed your mind from last week when I sent these to you and you said you definitely liked the second one better... Do you remember?
