Punta Cana
These are a few quick sketches I did in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic where I was vacationing the past week with my family. The first one is at the pool-bar where the bar stools are underwater; all bars should be like this.
The second one is of the beach outside our resort hotel; there is an old ship-wreck about a mile out from the beach. My niece, Grace, is in the lower left hand corner.
The third one is at Suana Island- about 2 1/2 hours from our hotel, and features my Dad, who turned 70 this month. The water here is amazingly clear and warm. Apparently, this is where they filmed the Blue Lagoon. About half-way out to the island is an area of water in the ocean which is really shallow and clear- it only goes up to your waist- it's really interesting.

Hey Dan, these are cool. Didn't know you were going to Punta Cana. Isn't it gorgeous out there? Like a private little hidden paradise. More people should know about our little third world country. :)
My wife and I were there in 02 for our honeymoon for four days at a resort and then we drove up to her mom's (or where she grew up, rather) and stayed there the rest of our stay. We wanna go back to Punta Cana, actually. Maybe stay at Cap Cana. Now there's another amazing place! Glad you had a good time, bro. Did you take any pictures?
COOL! It looks and sounds like my idea of paradise... at least the one in my head.
Hey Jesse- yeah it is gorgeous; it's like a dream world at the resort. Which resort were you at? We stayed at the Riu Palace Punta Cana.
Unfortunately, I didn't get my camera before going on the trip, but I will get doubles of my brother's pics, and we did hire a photographer to take some family pics for my Dad. I'll probably post them on my Flickr page eventually- http://www.flickr.com/photos/26569636@N00/
Hey Fred- Yeah, it is like a paradise- wait to you see the photos.
Nice drawings..always dig the on the spot pics...I was in Turks and Caicos in Dec and I can attest to the incredible beauty of the water in the islands.
Thanks, Justin. Yeah, I remember you said that yesterday when I saw you.
The water near the island was the best I've ever seen or felt.
Cool man, that'd be great! I'll certainly look out for them. We stayed at Natura Park which is one of the 'cheaper' ones 'cause we got the 4 nights for free from my wife's aunt as a gift for our honeymoon but it wasn't shabby at all! In fact I'll post some pics up and send you guys the link. Isn't Isla Saona awesome?!? Dude, like you said, middle of the ocean, boom! Crystal clear waist-deep water! I've never seen anything like that! Yeah, we definitely wanna go back there, someday soon, before all the tourists take over and start buying out or building shit.
I'll post those pics on one of my photo sharing sites so you guys can see where we stayed. Later!
Cool- Sounds good, Jesse
